January 18th, 2016 represents a significant time and milestone for our organization, marking the 100th year birthday of one of our founders, the artist, scientist and writer Dr. Serge Raynaud de la Ferrière. This celebration is part of a larger international event called the Expo 100 anniversary taking place internationally in more than 20 countries worldwide, predominately in Latin America, with its culmination in June in Nice (France) and Trieste (Italy).

The sociological and anthropological value of the art and literature works from this thinker who sought to unite the human experience in the evolution of history as well as the human experience of the different regions and traditions in the world, gives way to a sense of union and intercultural rapprochement, based on tolerance by means of understanding and the study of ancient and modern legacies and identities within the distinct cultures. He has well defined pieces representing the East and the West, each with its own anthropological and socio-cultural particularities, promoting a self-cultivation, education and realization, penetrating into multiple concepts and symbols of both the past and present.

In addition to being an artist, De la Ferrière was a psychologist, biologist, medical doctor and a doctorate in philosophy, writing 100 works in science, art, philosophy and didactics. It is in honour of his 100th birthday that we will be presenting a sample of his art works and literature.
